Sagar Bulsara - Question 3

For African Americans in the South after the Civil War, what help did they receive? What challenges did they face?

From this book it tells us that slaves worked at plantations in the South. They also used to help the Confederate forces and the North was scared that the more slave the South had, the more chances they have of victory. The North made The Emancipation Proclamation to help them but it didn't work because it didn't really free the slaves it only let them fight in the war.
